LAYING THE GROUNDWORK FOR THE FUTURE OF U.S.-RUSSIA RELATIONS
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Global Russia is an independent citizen diplomacy program that brings emerging leaders and rising professionals from the United States face-to-face with Russia's current and future business, political and intellectual elites.
We select between five and fifteen qualified participants for each trip, focusing on individual interests and tailoring program elements based on each group's background.
Participants engage in on- and off-the-record discussions with public and private leaders on a wide range of issues and international trends.
Trips are supplemented with cultural programs and free time aside for exploring tourist attractions, regional arts, and the local nightlife scene.
Program alumni are provided with options to continue building personal connections with Russia through partner events, programs, and internship opportunities.
Each trip is a week-long immersive experience featuring participation in a major forum.
Through Global Russia, I had the unique opportunity to engage with leaders in Russian businesses, politics, academia, science, and the arts during the Eastern Economic Forum. Nothing is more rewarding than being a witness to a major international platform with primary sources I could have only imagined to read about as a college student. Never a dull moment, this experience has reinforced my faith in citizen diplomacy.
Attending the Eastern Economic Forum through the Global Russia program was a life changing experience. Not only did the forum provide me the opportunity to converse with global policy makers and senior diplomats, it dispelled a lot of false impressions I had of Russia and its people.
My trip with Global Russia was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The program enabled me to meet high-level professionals as well as immerse myself in Russian culture. It was hands down a highlight of my college experience.
